I've been doing web design and development professionally now for almost ten years. In that time I've worked for others and I've also ran my own company. The biggest changes I would have to say I've seen in the internet in that time are the increase in the importance of  "having a web site" and user friendly, visually improved design. This means that putting a web site up is much more  important to a group or company than it used to be. Not only must you now have a web site, the web site has to look and operate impressively. I've found that as in print and video media, people are more and more savvy about web content and what is and isn't good. To be blunt, if your web site isn't very complimentary, many people will develop a similar attitude about you. We all know this isn't necessarily fair, but we live in a world of first impressions and this is particularly true in business.
Over the last number of years I've dedicated myself to helping people put up simple, effective, and graphically pleasing web sites. Sites that my clients can be proud of.
